چکیده
very often additional noise of arbitrary distribution type can be observed. Therefore, for the purpose of predicting the output response probability of acoustic system with an arbitrary stochastic input in the presence of the additional noise, it is necessary to find some new stochastic signal processing method reflecting the effect of the above additional noise fluctuation. In this paper, first, a relationship between the system output excited by a specific stochastic input of reference type and an arbitrary random input without the additional noise for an arbitrary acoustic systems is introduced in the form on an intensity scale. Next, a relationship between the system output excited by an arbitrary stochastic input in the absence and that in the presence of the additional noise is also introduced in the form on an intensity scale. Then, based on these relationships, a new prediction method of the system output for the arbitrary acoustic systems with the additional noise is proposed especially by use of the observed data excited by the specific stochastic input of reference type with the additional noise. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed method is confirmed experimentally too by applying it to the actual type sound wall systems.

In an actual measurement of random fluctuations, e.g., sound, light and electromagnetic (abbr., EM) fluctuation waves, the measured data are very often processed in a level-quantized form at discrete time intervals. In this paper, a unified explicit expression for the probability function with level-quantized random variables for an arbitrary random fluctuation wave is theoretically derived in ...

This paper presents a new scheme for active noise control (ANC) in ducts. It uses three pressure sensors to measure and separate the far field wave components in a duct. These are the incident wave from the primary noise source, the reflection wave from the duct outlet, and the anti-sound wave generated by the loudspeaker. Use of traveling waves makes it easier to design ANC schemes since the t...

Looking at the increasing request concerning sound insulation in building, TechnoFirst@ and Saint Gobain Vitrage propose an active double-glazing window. In this partnership, TechnoFirst@ brings its experience in active control system. The product will be characterized by a global insulation never obtained. It deals with an acoustic treatment of the air volume. Modelisations have been done and ...

This paper presents an investigation into the development of an active vibration control (AVC) system using genetic algorithms (GAs). During the last two decades, a substantial amount of research work has been carried out using GAs in various disciplines. Although GAs have gained popularity as parallel, global search techniques, their use in the area of active control is limited. This investiga...

The aim of this paper is firstly to address the consequences of the nonlinear interactions between higher order modes and the first order mode of a flexible cantilever beam. The tested cantilever beam exhibited numerous nonlinear phenomena that are commonly observed in many flexible structures. The experimental results have shown that active control of the nonlinear vibration in a flexible stru...
